Samurai warriors 3 ps3 english patch1/3/2023 ![]() I wish that DW would implement this system as some characters such as the Qiao sisters who are quite weak inherently, could benefit from long, fast combos imo. I honestly prefer the moveset variety in SW with all the unique charge attacks and combo length makes each character feel unique to play as, not just change the aesthetic of certain attacks. And don't insult my boy Yuan Shao like that, the man is a literal god i'll have you know XD. Mitsuhide is actually really good and nuanced in the first two games, the past couple of game make it ridiculously obtuse beyond belief considering how telegraphed it is in the story nowadays. I honestly prefer these two to the old gen DW's and despite all my praise for DW8 and DW9, SW2 still eclipses them both in a fair few ways. ![]() SW2 remains my undoubted favourite warriors game to date and SW1 is still very good as well, with one of the most unique takes on the story seen in the warriors franchise, feels so personal and war-like. However, i do implore you to try the masterpiece that is SW2 or SW1 for the darker atmosphere if you prefer. Yeah, i've found SW tasteless as of late especially 4 and 4-II though SOS is worth at least one playthrough. He seems like an emo Yuan Shao who believes anything other than a frontal assault is cowardly and specialises in pissing off all his friends by being a stubborn little bitch. Oh yeah, and I'm wondering if they've just badly portrayed Mitsuhide, as he comes across as a complete retard of no use whatsoever. Meanwhile SW has the ones with 4 but 3-long, 4 but 2-long, and some with like. Everyone in DW has 5 combo chains with an EX or two thrown in. Samurai warriors 3 ps3 english patch plus#Plus a more longterm issue I have with the SW series is that I don't really care for the different move-set types. The number of freaking times I had to play Sekigahara on both sides was agonising. The gameplay itself was actually pretty good (the character-switching in particularly was an interesting twist), but there is absolutely no justifying the way the characters could all play in each others' stories versions of the same battle but it doesn't count it for all when you do it in one. Getting 100% completion of that game, repeating the same battle over and over again with every character each for every instance of it in every story was beyond cancerous. But honestly, after playing SW4-II, I feel like I'd be fine never touching another SW game again. Might be because I've been able to play far more DW games than SW. If i had to pick a series i prefer though, it would be SW because SW2 remains my favourite warriors game to date. DW9 is what DW6 should have been, the patches and updates do help it a lot and it's now in my top 5 favourite warriors games, the new combat system feels like it should be added on to the combo system rather than it's replacement and the world or aesthetical options could use improving, the game looks amazing in photo mode but ultimately is a let down for most of the playable areas (scenic areas are unique and beautifully designed in some aspects as well as Nanzhong but they're rarely touched upon in gameplay and campaign missions). DW8XL is also one of the most definitive games i've seen for the series, having so much content and good warriors gameplay as well as a decent enough story that i'd recommend it to any warriors fan. DW6 would've been the start of something great, if not for the renbu system.ĭW7 was downright ugly and the most linear game to date, the story was very well focused on though, and empires looks good but since i don't have a PS3, i've not played empires or XL yet which improved heavily on the base game from the bits and pieces i've seen. ![]() ![]() DW5 was okay but was blew out the water by SW2 in pretty much every category. DW2 was lacking in content but could be very difficult, DW4 was solid mechanically but the maps always felt too small and XL was pathetic (other than xtreme mode). I started off as an SW fan so DW3 felt kinda bland to me but XL was really good. SW3 and SW4 have dropped the ball hard for me turning it into anime-ish weeb kind of things, though spirit of sanada was great for one playthrough, 4 is ultimately far too linear in map design and mission progression to actually be enjoyable. The gameplay in SW1 and SW2 may also be the best the series has ever seen. I liked the uniqueness of the SW cast more in the olden days and how the story was so varied compared to the three kingdoms, in terms of characterisation and possible story direction as well. I'm quite debated as i'm more of an old school SW fan and newer DW fan (yes, even 9). ![]()
